He's scared. I don't blame him. There's nothing like the security of a steady paycheck. But in the two years that we've been together he has never been without a gig or money in his pocket. He is not in debt and other than utilities he has no bills. We used to think that we would get married and then he'd have the money from the sale of his house to start a business plus the security of my paycheck. Bad idea. The reason to marry me is NOT so he can be a full time musician. He still has options. Playing music is what would make him happy.
It's hard sometimes to take risks in order to realize our life's joy. He's so comfortable inside his little box. The Comfort Zone. Truth is, his comfort zone is getting a little uncomfortable. He's getting too big for that small little world of nine-to-five. I want him to stretch his wings and just take off.
Trying new things isn't easy. I know that. We can't allow FEAR to hold us back from doing what we love. Fear of failure, fear of success or fear of the unknown. It's all False Evidence Appearing Real. What do we have to lose? It would be a tragedy to have a burning desire in your heart and to have never even attempted to fullfil it. A tragedy.
